Description: This 0.47 acre property is located on Renau Blvd. The property is just outside Summerville in Dorchester County, South Carolina. Public water, sewer, and electricity are available.  A level, wooded lot, perfect for building on, bringing in a mobile home, or keeping as an investment, this property is in the heart of the Low country, a place where flowers bloom by the acre and history lives on every corner, where world-class cuisine is served with a side of Southern charm, sweet tea is measured by the gallon, and it’s a short ride to the seashore in Charleston. Give your friends and family the opportunity to sip sweet tea on this quiet street, and enjoy the beauty of the South among the azaleas.

Summerville’s beauty is mirrored in her motto, “The Flower Town in the Pines.” Since the early 1900’s, tourists have flocked to the town during early spring to enjoy millions of spring blossoms, particularly azaleas, in private and public gardens, including the mid-town Azalea Park, nine minutes from the property. It’s no wonder perhaps that the motto on the town’s official seal is “Sacra Pinus Esto- The Pine is Sacred”.

The town’s name is evocative of its history. Situated on a pine-forested ridge, it was first inhabited in the late 1700’s as Charlestonians and other inhabitants of the SC Low country sought respite from the summer heat, mosquitos and disease. From May to September plantation families along the nearby Ashley River and other coastal areas, headed for higher elevation to live temporarily or “maroon,” in the tiny forest colony soon dubbed Summerville. Other pioneer residents descended from those 1696 puritans who settled the nearby former colonial settlement of Dorchester, endowing Summerville with a heritage spanning three centuries.

Stop by Summerville anytime day or night and visit Mason- the World’s Largest Sweet Tea. Mason stands over 15 feet tall and can hold up to 2,524 gallons of Sweet Tea- the Champagne of the South. The Town of Summerville made its way into the record book by setting the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest (Sweet) Iced Tea on National Iced Tea Day, also known as June 10, 2016.

In Charleston, everything from the cobblestones to the iron gates has a story to tell and the city prides itself on showcasing these historic sites. Take a ferry to Fort Sumter and stand exactly where the Civil War began. Tour one of the expertly preserved plantations and mansions. There is history everywhere so be sure to take time to take it all in–a perfect option for a day trip, being forty minutes from the property.

DIRECTIONS: From Charleston, get on I-26 W. Follow I-26 W to Nexton Pkwy in Berkeley County. Take the 197A/Nexton Pkwy S exit from I-26 W. Take N Maple St and US-78 W/W 5th N St to County Rd S-18-785/Renau Blvd in Summerville. The property will be on your left before Dean Drive.
